Cornerstone Concert Hall
at “The Hangout”

Thank you for your willingness to play at The Hangout.  The purpose of Cornerstone Concert Hall activities is to give area bands a venue to display their artistry and provide a place for students to “hangout.”  If your band has a demo or CD, we would like to listen to it.

The activities of the concert hall are supported by the Christian community. Certain values and principles must be adhered to for performances to be permitted. Following are the rules:

1. No profanity, vulgarity, nudity, Satanic lyrics or symbols or sexually suggestive lyrics or actions are permitted.

2. Bands are responsible for the conduct of their audiences. Bands are not to incite crowds in a way that would cause damage to the facility or other persons.

3. Lyrics disrespectful (in the eyes of adults) toward authority figures (police, teachers, school officials, etc.) or toward God or Christianity are not permitted.

4. Moshing is permitted, however, bands are expected to help control the behavior of audiences in terms of moshing or stage diving.

*If these rules are violated during the performance, electricity will be cut off and you will not be permitted to return.

Set-up and Rehearsal / Performance Issues:

• Cornerstone Concert Hall provides a 12’ by 20’ stage, three feet high off the floor.  The stage is pushed out four feet from the wall to allow space to put cases, etc. behind the stage.  Four electrical outlets are available by the stage and two in the front of the stage.  Due to the positioning of our new sound and lighting equipment , it is necessary that you perform on the stage and not on the floor in front.

• There are no seats in the concert hall since most concert-goers stand. Small carpet squares are available for listeners to sit on the floor if desired.  The floor is slanted.

• The theater is equipped with a professional lighting system which is controlled by Hangout volunteers.  The temperature in the room is set very low (approximately 58o in winter) which means it will start out chilly but warm to normal as the night progresses.  In summer, it will get very hot as we are not air conditioned.

• Set-up and rehearsal can be arranged through Rick Scaletta(RichardSca@verizon.net).  We open the center on Saturdays at 5:00 p.m. for set up.  All concerts start at 7:00 p.m. The center closes at 11:00 p.m.  Sound check for the first band begins promptly at 6:30 p.m. and occurs for other bands immediately prior to performance.
