Our Mission

To provide a quality experience for everyone who steps through our doors by provide appropriate activities for all types of youth ages 14+, a thorough booking process, helpful knowledgeable team, and building meaningful Christ-like relationships with everyone in our sphere of influence.

Provide appropriate activities for all types of youth

Bands/Acts will be screened before being booked by a reliable promoter or general manager. We will be looking for style that fits well with other bands on the bill, well rehearsed, and inspiring lyrics and groove. The goal is to have bands that are infectious in nature that will draw the listener in and want more. They will not demean or belittle the listener. Bands/Acts can be any style or genre as long as they are screened and approved. If there is any misrepresentation of any of these qualities, the power will shut off and the act will not be asked back.

Thorough Booking Process

The Hangout will be as professional as possible. Bands should be booked through a booking agent or band manager (may be a band member). Bands and the Hangout will have to have a signed contract with responsibilities of both parties, which will include: time of arrival at the venue, music and performance guidelines, technical needs, and stage plot. This is in hope to raise the level of professionalism for all parties.

Helpful Knowledgeable Team

The goal is that we work as a team. Everyone that is involved in the process of an event should have an attitude of overall success and helpfulness that will be communicated before the event starts. This also means that some people will need to be paid to insure the highest level of accountability, but the majority will still serve as volunteers.

Building meaningful Christ like relationships

Everyone that serves in any aspect of the life of the hangout will have to “drip grace”. Show promoters, money takers, cleaning staff, technical staff, people behind the counter, adult leaders and anyone else considered staff would have to have a deep level of understand of others and their needs. This means listening first and speaking second. Jesus was amazing at listening and growing with people. That is what we need to do. Building relationships is the doorway to the gospel. Our goal is to provide a place that all are welcome, and there is no sense of “in or not in”. This does not mean there are no rules and standards, but it will start with staff and their attitude and trickle down to all.
  1. Develop authentic relationships between Christian adults and young people.
  2. Provide positive, Christian, adult role models for young people of the area.
  3. Provide a place where relationships with Christian adults and Christian peers are nurtured.
  4. Direct young people beginning to nurture a relationship with Jesus Christ into area church programs which will disciple and develop that relationship.
